During the month of October 2013, I decided it was finally time to pull the tired 396 out and either rebuild it or replace it, it ran ok but leaked and burned oil. After the engine and tranny were plucked out of the Vette, starting looking at the front suspension which was pretty much original control arms, bushings, springs, and tie rods. It was not a pretty sight being that most of these parts were well over 45 years old. It was time to rebuild the whole front suspension.
Front suspension parts nice and pretty
Got the wire brush out, hand held version and power drill, cleaned up nicely.
Upper control arms: before & after. BTW, these are painted with Rustoleum Gloss Black. Powder coating all these parts would have been nice but outside the budget.

Front suspension all new and reinstalled. BTW, coil springs added some new terms to the language, not the easiest job to perform even with 2 of us.
